H₂S Can Corrode a Cabinet Without Direct Water Exposure
Wastewater sites may expose cabinets to hydrogen sulfide, chlorine-bearing moisture and treatment chemicals. Corrosion can begin at hardware, welds and cable-entry areas long before the main enclosure panel visibly fails.
GX-BOX Solution:We match coated steel, 304 or 316 stainless steel to the actual corrosion zone, then extend the material strategy to exposed hinges, locks, fasteners and entry structures. Raised bases can isolate floor-standing cabinets from persistent ground moisture, while sloped tops reduce standing water and contamination.
A Sealed Cabinet Can Still Be Wet on the Inside
High humidity and temperature changes can bring internal surfaces below the dew point, producing condensation around PLCs, terminals and other equipment even when the enclosure itself does not leak.
GX-BOX Solution:Instead of relying on sealing alone, the cabinet can be prepared for a hygrostat-controlled anti-condensation heater that keeps internal conditions above the dew point. Where required, rated pressure-compensation and drain interfaces can also be incorporated without uncontrolled openings in the cabinet.
The HMI Cutout Can Become the Cabinet’s Weakest Seal
A large HMI or viewing-window opening interrupts the primary enclosure surface. In wet wastewater environments, relying on the operator device alone to maintain the cabinet seal can create a critical weak point.
GX-BOX Solution:Where the project allows,We separates the weather barrier from the operator interface: a sealed outer door provides primary environmental protection, while the HMI and controls are mounted on an internal door behind a framed viewing window. Bottom removable gland plates keep field cable modifications away from the primary door seal.
